Happy Birthday Daniel! (Belated)

10 Things I Love About Daniel
1. He finds joy in working - especially when he's working outside with his dad.
2. He is a happy and content child.
3. He loves spending quality time with me- even if its just going to the grocery store, washing dishes, going walking or picking up trash at the church.
4. He plays creatively and independently. I love hearing the sound effects coming from his room when he plays with trucks or helicopters - so cute!
5. He is service oriented. Ever since he was just a little boy he he has been eager to volunteer to help out. He notices the little needs of others - like when they need a spoon or a tissue and he'll run to fetch it for them often before they even ask.
6. He's optimistic. He usually focuses on the positive things in life.
7. He is a natural leader.
8. He makes friends easily with children of many ages and is usually the one originating the creative ideas of going camping or hunting with his buddies.
9. He's very curious and inquisitive which can make for some pretty interesting dinnertime conversations.
10. He's good at figuring things out hands on things because he pays attention to all the projects his dad and others do around the house/yard/car etc.
Rebecca designed this cool invitation for Daniel's birthday party.

Daniel chose to have an army battlefield cake. I let him decorate it himself.

The boys did some "basic training" drills - running and jumping around obstacles in the backyard.

Then they decorated their equipment (catapults) and did some target practice using beans outside.

We had a brief "battle" with water balloon grenades.
All of the gifts were perfect for Dan's personality.

To start out his party he let all of his friends share in the fun of the rocket balloons he got from Grandma and Grandpa K.

A racetrack
A camo shirt and lego helicopter
Some licorice
and An Army helicopter.

The "enemy's" bomb pinata was a little too easy to break...
but their was plenty of candy for everyone.
